It’s that time of year again, the first Thursday in March is approaching, also known as the annual World Book Day! Loved by children around the world, it’s a fun day for them to get dressed up and express themselves with exciting costumes and share their favourite book characters with one another!

World Book Day was created to promote authors, books and illustrators, but most importantly, reading! It is recognised as a charity, providing children with books of their own. Created by UNESCO, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind! The main aim and mission of World Book Day is to encourage and inspire children to get more involved with reading, but of course in a fun and exciting way. Most schools give children the opportunity to dress up as their favourite character, but if not, the little ones can still celebrate by getting dressed up outside of school to raise awareness for World Book Day!
